Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Leviticus 19:18 Have you wondered, as I have, if there are any Syrian refugees saying their prayers tonight and giving thanks to the Christian nations throughout the world who have come to their rescue? Are they giving us a two thumbs up acknowledgement for overwhelming demonstrations of selflessness, Christian charity, grace and mercy, peace and love and forgiveness? A part of me sadly thinks that this is not so. I wonder, as well, if they stop to consider that their neighbours, nations of Islam, have not stepped up to the plate to take them in. That includes some of the richest nations on earth. Yes, Jordan and Turkey have received some refugees but they did not exactly welcome or ask for refugees; they received the ones who were able to slip through their borders and set up camp. That’s not the same as opening your doors and saying, “Hey, come here, we will feed you and clothe you and give you shelter and a job and keep you safe.” Click "Read More" to continue.... In addition to the Muslim nations displaying their reluctance to help the Syrian refugees, there are no African nations offering to help either. India, Pakistan, both with large Muslim populations have avoided taking any responsibility to be of assistance, too. The same goes for the Philippines, Indonesia, China and even Syria’s good friend for decades now, the Russians – none of these nations have opened their doors.
In fact, the only countries to offer significant refugee relief are the very western Christian nations despised by Syrians and fellow Muslims for many generations. The very people they openly expressed hatred for, the infidels — the Christians, are the ones who are mobilizing their governments to take action and setting up aid and care stations in their communities to ease the assimilation of Muslim refugees into their societies and cultures, and at great expense. The Christian European nations, Australia, United States and Canada – all who have suffered from repeated horrific Islamic terrorist attacks, these are the Syrian saviours. And we do it in spite of a great potential for danger by unknowingly letting radicals into the country to plot violent attacks on innocent civilians. Imagine that. Talk about Christian goodness. Again, my mind starts to question if refugee Ali and his family will sit down to dine tonight and give thanks to the Christians they recently hated for opening their hearts and minds and wallets to give them a new and safer life. Do you suppose that is happening? The western Christian world is owed a two thumbs up and a huge display of gratitude from the Muslim population, refugee or not, for having the goodness of soul to forgive and do the right thing regardless of the consequences and help our fellow men, women and children to escape war and death and tyranny. If the tables were turned, would the nations of Islam be opening their doors to us? Two thumbs up Christians of the world! It is this type of display of love that separates us from, and elevates us above, all other great cultures and faiths around the planet. Where would Ali and his family be without us right now? Love your enemies. Matthew 5:44
