Remember, during the election, when all things Trump were beautiful and Candidate Donald got born again and declared his allegiance with the Christian people promulgating to the world that if elected the faithful would have a friend in the white house? Remember when he questioned the vetting of Syrian immigrant refugees and how easy it was for them to enter the US but Christians from Syria could not get into the country nearly as easily? Remember those good old days? Because when it comes to Christians and global persecution of the faith, it has only been a few months since his election and President Trump seems to have forgotten his words, his philosophies and his promises to the American people. And he was just given a perfect opportunity to put his money where his mouth is. _______________________________________________________________________________________ In case you need a reminder.... (Business Insider News: "I'll tell you one thing: I get elected president, we're going to be saying 'merry Christmas' again. Just remember that," he said. "And by the way, Christianity will have power…”) (USA Today: About Syrian ease of immigration to the US and the difficulties Christians from Syria have faced to immigrate.) (http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/04/10/piers-morgan-slams-media-coverage-egypt-isis-attack-christians-palm-sunday) ____________________________________________________________________________ The recent Palm Sunday bombings of two Christian churches in Egypt provided the president with a chance to show the world, and in particular ISIS, that indeed Christians do have a friend in the white house. But what Christians received instead was a Presidential Twitter statement: “So sad to hear of the terrorist attack in Egypt. U.S. strongly condemns. I have great confidence that President Al Sisi will handle situation properly.” This, from a president who tweets much, much more acrimony toward the actor Alec Baldwin when he plays a caricature of him on SNL. Forty five dead; over 100 seriously injured; two churches destroyed and Mr. Trump deemed it appropriate to put his faith and confidence into the leader of a nation that ranks twenty first on a list of over one hundred countries across the world actively, daily, involved in the persecution of the Christian people. Compliments and a show of solidarity with a leader of a nation who forces Christians to pay a special “jizya” tax unless agreeing to convert to Islam. (Persecuted Christians World Watch List: Open Doors Organization: for info on who is on the watch list and the ongoing atrocities being committed against Christians world wide.) With friends like that who needs enemies? Just five days before the Palm Sunday bombing targeting Christians at worship, the Syrian dictator gassed his own people, again, and a horrified President Trump, just sixty nine hours after the attack, ordered a military strike of fifty nine Tomahawk cruise missiles to fall upon the airport that facilitated the Syrian bombers. The cost of this action was a hefty $50 million just for the fireworks not to mention the staff and military coordination and equipment required to pull it off. President Trump, in a statement to the American people said that, “No child of God should ever suffer such horror.” The Egyptian dual bombing of churches on Palm Sunday yielded Christian children casualties as well. Mr. Trump said nothing about their horror. The point to all of this here is that for over a year candidate Trump proclaimed an iron fist allegiance with Christians, expressing knowledge and empathy with the suffering of persecuted believers and made claims to become active in bringing a stop to this rising global hatred and to restore Christianity’s cultural prominence at least in the United States. But on his first challenge to really make a stand he choked and treated the situation with disrespect by applauding the leadership of a serious Christian adversary, and entrusted in him to manage the act of terror against Christians when he represents a nation that ranks high on the list for terrorizing Christians. That is unacceptable. And President Trump’s feet should be held to the fire for ignoring this golden opportunity to truly aid the persecuted modern Christian and send a message while president as strong as the messages he sent while a candidate looking for a job. His voice alone would force the world to acknowledge the violence perpetrated against Christians and bring the mainstream media to the table who will then expose what is going on to the rest of the world. Maybe then, something will change. You blew this chance, Mr. President. There will be others. It will be interesting to see if you will stand by your rhetoric. ___________________________________________________ Resources: http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/04/10/piers-morgan-slams-media-coverage-egypt-isis-attack-christians-palm-sunday Piers Morgan, Fox News TV Interview on “Christians Under Attack around the world,” and the “Genocide being committed against Christianity.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFI7e1OMKeg Speaks about changing laws to allow Christian lobby; about saying Merry Christmas; about muslim people coming into country and more difficult for Christians; about political correctness https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOi5HvJkzZI Christianity being chipped away at;temporary ban on muslims till we figure out what is going on; wants Christianity to have a strong flavor in America; return to Merry Christmas Business Insider News: "I'll tell you one thing: I get elected president, we're going to be saying 'merry Christmas' again.
